Diego Tristan - handed a contract, regardless?

Take a look at these players and numbers:

David Di Michele -169 (5'7")

Freddie Sears - 170 (5'7")

Craig Bellamy - 175 (5'9)

Zavon Hines - 178 (5'10)

LBM - 178 (5'10)

When watching Sundays game against Bolton it was painfully obvious that we lacked physical appearance in the attack. Especially in the last part of the game when Bolton had 11 men in their own half of the pitch and 8 in the box.

Cole has really developed his game compared to previous seasons, and is slowly winning me over, but is not the physical type regardless of his size. Also, Carlton has been a blessing during our time of injury despair but what if he gets injured?

With Ashton out for the best part of the season and only the above mentioned strikers in our books, Zola must be very tempted to get a player in that he hopes can provide something other than pace and passing skills.

I'm not only talking about winning headers when Faubert drops the ball into the box, I'm talking about someone that create room for himself and others in front of the goal.

To sum it up: I have a feeling that Diego 1.86 m (6 ft 1 in) have a good chance of being signed even without impressing in training, and regardless of "a less than monastic lifestyle", just to offer something different compared to what we've got.

You could be right. I have however no clue as how far off he is fitnesswise. I think it's a bad sign that he won't be played in the reserves tonight.
I have faith in Zola/Clarke though.
