Regardless of the reasons for this, slipped discs or not, he will probably be replaced fairly quick even if living without one for the rest of the season can’t be a catastrophe. Green will hardly transform into butterfingers by the lack of one.
But if the rumor on KUMB are right Hughes sidekick at Blackburn and City, Kevin Hitchcock, is lined up.
He may be a West Ham supporter but if he is coming, and I say IF, we need to wonder no more about our manager situation next season.

Hitchcock is also very good friends with Zola from their time at Chelsea.
True, but mu guess is that Zola won't be around to enjoy his company for that long.
Why the hurry?
If Ludo hasn't been around to do the job for a while, why the sudden need for one. D&D seem rather be inclined to save by cutting down on staff, and a new GK-trainer now won't do anything to affect this seasons result.
Now what does it hint at?
But will he actually come? what is the quality of the source?
Zola WILL be gone at the end of the season. It so obvious. Shame but the man has managed us to a pathetic season and desrves the tin tack and h will be gone and he knows it.
Guys get in a predictor - we will end up 13/14 by end of season
Ok Anonymous, IF we do end up 13/14th by the end of the season, Zola STILL needs to go! 13/14th in a very week EPL is nothing to be proud of for a team like West Ham!
I like Zola but he's not up to the challenge of managing an EPL team YET!
I'm just worried about who we will get to replace him! Curbs - No Thanks! Hughs - No Thanks! Pardew - No Thanks!
Who's left?
Zola will not be going anywhere. under the situation he has been in he has done very well & i think things will only get better. just my opinion no flaming towards anyone
KUMB are a bunch of goons, they nicked the Hitchcock snippet from a thread on WestHamOnline posted by Bill Gardener, who has a few sources.
There are a bunch of goons at KUMB, for sure, as at my job or even this place.
There are some very well informed blokes there (at KUMB) though.
And yes, my main problem with the whole thing is if Hitchcock is ever going to come.
But IF he is...
btw we have pretty much a predictor of our own!
He's called Dicks - keep up with his posts!
I can't see that the Hitchcock rumour is more pro Hughes than pro Zola. I mean Zola and Clarke is old friends with Hitchcock who is a great West Ham fan since childhood. Whe've just lost our goalkeeper coach, Hitchcock is available and... yes a goalkeeper coach. So Zola, Clarke and maybe even Ludo are talking about the situation and the decision seems easy...
I do not say that this is the right interpretation of the act, but I do not see it less likley than yours....
The Mark Hughes ghost is emerging. But I doubt - even if Zola leaves - that he already is lined up. Why would he had said OK? He does not even know if we will be a PL team next season. And he won't be on sale I guess.. (That I do not like him is a different matter).
I think Joppe might just be reading a bit too much into the Hitchcock rumour. I find it unlikely that Hughes would already have agreed to join WH in the summer, given (as Prince points out) that they might not even be in the PL by then.
If I was the owner of WH I would look for a manager with a proven record of doing well with limited resources. Hughes (at Wales and Blackburn) fits that bill perfectly, even if he was out of his depth at City.
I would imagine that this record also means that Hughes will have several options to choose from this summer.
Yes Joppe certainly might, but I'm not quite as sure about Hughes several options (with more potential than West Ham) as you are. I think we may well be the biggest under achievers in this campaign.
Granted, he will not likely join us if we end up in the fizzy pop. But we most likely won't.
A bit of good news ....curbs was seen at ipswich the other night..fingers crossed they give him a job
Son now Hitchcock is confirmed as our new Goalie coach until the end of the season. And Zola and Clarke have another Chelsea buddie with them.
I do not think of him as a step towards revaeling Hughes as a new manager. But I do welcome him as he has been a Hammers all his life but never been here, until now. Good luck!
Maybe a stupid Q but: Is there any chance that he actually is related to the big Hitchcock? I mean they do not only share the same name but also grew up in West Ham land???
Sorry I do see know that he has been here earlier. A shot spell but anyway.
