Please, shut your mouth!

As we've said before it would be best for all parts if Sullivan kept his mouth shut for a while. Till the season is over os so. Can't understand why he has to babble in public.
The latest is that the new owner have told the whole world that we are facing Armagedeon if (we drop to CC) and if the players don't take a big cut in wages.

For God's sake: This the day before we are to meet his old club in a (another) really, really important battle. So this verbal attack to his own players is his answer to that??
Demoralising and stupid I would say.... Whining around in public is not the way to act as the Boss taking care of his employees in any case. And certainly not in a football club, with all their fans. As fans we always want to know, we want to have the facts in a more transparent way, but not this! It seems that any paper just have to call Mr Sullivan and out comes the blunders....

I do not even think he can negotiate on-going-contracts. But in any case how wouldn't you react as a senior player? And Zola? After month's of difficulties outside the pitch, I thought that the time now was for the players and manager where they could concentrate on things on the pitch. But no, thanks to Sullivan.
If talk at all: Why doesn't he talk about the possibilities, the great future, the good atmosphere, the young players coming through, how overwhelmed he has been being here, the shirt who we all fight for? Togetherness?

I think Mr Sullivan ought to invest more instead: In a new PR manager.

And a zip for his mouth....

Are the Davids losing the plot already?

Edit: Maybe Mr Sullivan now has understood that he has said to much as he in SSN today (Wed.) actually proclaimed:

"The books are horrendous. There's 100-odd million of debt. This might be the last interview I do this season. We've made the public aware of the situation. We're not going to go over and over it again. It's an enormous challenge. We think we're up for it. It's something that we have to put all our energy into."

Happy if so. And if we can get some points now!

As professional PR, I agree. Silence on such issues would be welcome right now. It would also be good for team, staff and fan morale.

I agree. It's one thing having strong opinions (and I'm agreeing with much of what G&S are saying) but do they really have to tell the world everything they think?

We've gone from one extreme to the other, from knowing nothing that goes on behind the closed doors of the boardroom, to knowing every passing thought that G&S have.

G&S, if you read this, give it a rest will you? Is this good for team morale right now? Can't your re-organisation plans wait until the summer.

P.S By the way if you really are reading this, thanks Mr Gold for giving my young lad your autograph, he was made up about it once I explained who you were?

Give them a month in charge before calling them a failure plz

I don't much like this bigging up of the 'bad blood' with Birmingham either. We don't need a bitter rivalry with them - Spurs and Millwall are enough.

Can't agree more Prince H

Totally agree with post. They seem to be preparing to dismantle us and then rebuild a cheaper model. The comments last week around Upson, I feel directly contributed to the error our captain made. Yes I know Upson is a professional 7 should have done better. But G&S are slowly dismasntling what confisence the club has got left

Prince h get a grip son, it's hardly a "verbal attack on his own players" is it, just a few home truths?

We could do without thinly veiled threats to the players and management at a time when we need to be picking up points, not losing morale.
Save this kind of talk for when we are mathematically safe at the very earliest.

It does seem to be an incredible act of self destruction.

After 4 years of being front page news for all the wrong reasons, I was starting to enjoy the peace and harmony.

Then those in charge decide to start hacking away from within.

But like you, I wish they would shut up !!

Can't think of any constructive reason to do this, so can only assume he is starting to prepare the sacking of Zola and Clarke by releasing their generous salaries amongst a few others.

For God's sake, STFU G&S. It's hardly going to motivate the team if you say that, in the summer, the club will want them to take a pay cut (not that they can enforce this unilaterally anyway). It'll have just had them on the phone to their agents, asking for them to drum up some interest.

G&S aren't stupid, so they must have some ulterior motive.

Anon: I'm with you on this. But what is the ulterior motive? It can't be to sink the ship totally?

To get Zola and Clarke to leave without having to sack (i.e. pay) them?

Prince H said...

Joppe: I guess it would be bad business to let all the experienced players leave, cause playing CC football (this time without the parachute money) would mean less money than giving Zola/Clarke the foot right away. And if Zola/Clarke are still here when they have (I mean this is hypothetical) driven us to CC themselves I guess they will be sacked then.
Just to bring clarity to this: I am still pro Zola! And - God forbidden - if we will play CC I guess he is even better to start us over.

I see now that we are not alone on this subject. Read more:

I knew this bloke would be BAD for us. Only just arrived and already causing trouble, he seriously hasn't got a clue he really doesn't....

TBI:
I usually agree with you but this time I don't. They know exactly what they are doing, it's just that our goal is not the same as G&S's

So Sullivan "backtracks", but really not...: he thinks he galvanise the team with his talk. Does he really think that himself? Nah...

Rekill: I hope you are wrong of course, but if you with your experience can explain how that will happen, please tell us.
