Anything goes?

There are aspects of business and sports that I will always have a hard time stomaching. Basically it boils down to - anything you can get away with you get away with.

The Eidur hijack doesn't brake any laws or written rules but right now I feel it's worse than a few things that does.

Harry and Eidur may talk all week about how no deal was done and that no formal agreement is broken, or whatever, but we all know this is as lame as when Maradona talked about the "Hand of God" or Henri said he may have touched the ball but "wasn't aware of doing it".
Unfortunately neither Harry nor Eidur will lose any sleep over it.
Harry has made a career of screwing people, but I was hoping that there were values not counted in £ that still applied in Eidurs life - don't ask me why I was so naive.

I wish I could say something inspiring to lift the hopes of myself, and maybe some reader, but at the moment my limbic system has taken control over major parts of my brain much like the Talebans of Afganistan.
It hopes that Harry will wake up one day to find that his eyelids finally goes all in and refuses to open their regular 3/52 of an inch. The final "good luck" greeting on a theatre also spring to my medievally inspired areas, whereas the conspiratorily inclined part of my brain tries to find Eggy involved in some way, but surely no?
I wish we had a cup game with them coming up!

OK, so he was offered a longer contract at White Hart Lane, one that made more footballing sense to him, not forcing him to find a new (last?) club in the summer. And we did put him on hold while we chased a famous Hamburg striker, but how on earth can that matter today?
I'm hurt! (but at least I'm not a ManC supporter)

Anon: that's quite a range of diagnoses you have listed there. Are they varified?

As if we would not do it if we got the chance. And if not why not! We are not that attractive at present but one day...

To be fair he will get far less chance to play there and he knows it so it says lots about a player who is at the end of his career and with little to play for. Perhaps we have missed out on a waste of space.

'Arry is true to form!

Anyhow, considering the unknowns who is keeping Eidur from playing in Monaco....

Bill:
You touch on my favourite topic "morale is for the other lot" but today I wanted to feed the beast inside me.
You are of course spot on and Sully's "what goes around comes aroun" comment certainly confirms that.

Farbror: the answer is, as you may imply, Eidur!

im glad if spurs take him! IMO he's way past his peak... I I think Benni would be a class act for the club...

Seriously not fussed about EG, would have been useful given current situation but I think we have enough to stay up so why not keep blooding the kids?

Has not old Harry said that he has a big heart for our club? Not of course enough to try to trip us once more. But his "disservice" may ned up good. We've saved some money and Eidur will stay on the bench for Tottenham as they'll see that he is too slow for the football of today. (Remember I saw him in his last game for Barcelona. Just kids and him in the team and he was the worst player on the field)

If the rumours of his greatness are true: Buy Moses now! Cheaper, better, a future!

prince h..i think arry ,lampard snr and junior have all got a big chip on their collective shoulders and its called westham...i honestly don't think EG was on arrys radar until the news broke about us buying him..then just because he can he made a move..little north london club forever in the shadow of the arse..and they know the olympic stadium is coming our way..THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT... ITS CLARET AND BLUE..!!

I'm glad he isn't coming because I was never a fan of this deal happening. What wound me up though was the fact he has turned us down for years and then just before the dotted line goes to the enemy!

Him and Arry are going to get pelters at our gaff next time!

Yes, thought he would be more interested in playing a part with his old pals (?) Zola/Clarkes revolution and have some chance to play regular football. Eidur seems to prefer Harry. And if Harry said there were to identical contracts for Eidur to chose from, he probably forgot to mention that brown envelope he had in his pocket.....
And it's also typical Harry to say that they were not to buy anyone and all of a sudden buys... mainly because they can.
Im not that fond of having Keane here either.....

Keane won't come as he'd want the same pay as in Tottenham where he is the top earner!

I wonder what Zola said to Eidur when he was here for the medical?
